Nothing happens when I click the circle
Almost always the Accessibility permission. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and make sure Yellowlight is switched on. If it's already on and still doing nothing, switch it off and on again, or remove it with the minus button, then click the circle once more and allow it when macOS asks.
One window didn't minimize
Yellowlight can only minimize windows that macOS lets you minimize. If a window has no yellow button in its corner (some floating panels, overlays and pop-ups don't), there's nothing for Yellowlight to press, so it leaves that window alone.
Is there a way to bring everything back?
No, and that's deliberate. Minimized windows are in the Dock like any others, so click one there, or use Mission Control or the app switcher.
How do I make it start when I log in?
Right-click the circle and choose Launch at Login. A checkmark means it's on. Keep the app in your Applications folder, or macOS won't be able to start it at login.
How do I quit it?
Right-click the circle and choose Quit Yellowlight.
macOS says it can't verify the app
Yellowlight is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so a current copy should open normally. If you see a warning, you likely have an unfinished or modified download. Delete it and download a fresh copy from this site.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit it, drag Yellowlight from Applications to the Trash, and, if you like, remove it from the Accessibility list in System Settings. It stores no files of its own.
What does it collect?
Nothing. There's no account, no analytics, and the app never connects to the internet. See the privacy page.
What does it need to run?
A Mac running macOS 13 Ventura or later.
